Day 20 (Team July)

Well over midnight here and busy morning tomorrow, so I thought I'd post early again.

Here's today's prompt for your writing updates and for any extracts, thoughts, or comments you might have.

Keep the fires burning! :))

Some more editing, and ~300 words more on the Firiel story, but then I reached the end of the scene and couldn't decide what the next scene is so am rather stuck for now. Hopefully tomorrow with bring new ideas.

Later in the same scene
"That reminds me. As we are talked about arrangements, would you like to see the other bedrooms? Some of your ladies will be expected to sleep here with you while I am away. I will not insult you by demanding that one share your bed, but it would excite too much gossip for you to be up here alone."
"I would not wish to be alone - it would be too quiet." She got to her feet. "So, finish the tour? After the earlier interruption?" She said teasingly.
He laughed and she joined in. He got up and put an arm around her, drawing her down the corridor. There were another four full bedrooms - each with sleeping space for two people, plus a small room that looked to be suitable for Elwien, as well as another bathing room.
"Very nice. I assume in time that these will come to be for our children."
"Yes," Arvedui said, pulling her closer and kissing her deeply.

There's always that damned paternity question in royal families, isn't there? Hope tomorrow brings clarity on where the story wants to go.

This sounds so idyllic, it's sure to go wrong.

Yes! Things go well for them for a while, but then start to go downhill into disaster
Thank you :)

Ah, yes, the end of the scene quandary.

They are bonding, but the atmosphere in which they have to conduct their lives is not an easy one.

*nods* Part of the problem is I don't want to just skip from here to when things start to go wrong.
Thank you!

Well, they both know the importance of having an heir, although an earlier part of the conversation was about how it would be better for Firiel not to try and have a child immediately, to allow her time to settle in and not be too young (it is really hard to work out how the ages work with their lifespans)... but they are both thinking about and planning for the future. (btw I'm totally ignoring Aranath's birthdate given in HOME as it is two years before the date in the Appendices for Firiel and Arvedui's marriage)
