I do love their interchanges, especially the assumption by Sherlock that John thinks he's been experimenting on the food. And his specific mention of just the eggs, he may well have!

That's an evocative last sentence.

I imagine Sherlock just wanting to save time and bring John's attention back to the conversation they had been having earlier, rather than having him focus on not being poisoned by his breakfast! (No need to volunteer what he did with the chicken, for example, as John won't be cooking that for breakfast. ;-))

Remains to be seen if I can pull off what I hope to do with this particular flashback.
