Didn't get to any writing yet today since it's only 7 pm, but I did make some very big progress yesterday!
I wrote a draft for an (admittedly shorter end) fic for Star Wars Rare Pairs all in one go! That was such a glorious success since I have been fiddling at it all October, with several false starts. I also edited another shortish fanfic yesterday.
So. I'm super pleased and not too worried even if I end up not writing at all tonight.
Right now what bums me out for my Pico is that it looks like I'll be handing my laptop in for repairs this month (battery is broken, a repair I have been postponing for months since I constantly needed the laptop) so I'll end up being however long without. Which makes me all the more glad I got a draft for my assignment but. Still a bummer.
Congratulations on completing the draft all in one session! Good going, and all the better for working on the other piece's edits. You absolutely deserve to be feeling super pleased!
Bummer about your poor laptop. Never a good time for repairs, but during Pico, ugh.
Maybe I'll try that. I know I got one of these miniature bluetooth keyboards back when I got the tablet, but I never used it. Don't know if I still have it, or where it is.
I do quite a lot of writing on my tablet, but then I have to go and fix all the spelling afterwards - this is why I end up with notes which say things like '4 knits jn calm' and 'French eaten'.
(I used to have a tablet where the spelling autocorrect was separate from the predictive text, which was great, but I'd rather have messed up typing than predictions!)
Oh that's what it looks like when I try to write on my phone. I know some people can write perfectly on their phone but I... am not one of these people.
Congrats to the progress, it's great news! Let's hope the repairs won't last too long. *fingers crossed*
I've just read your reply above. I couldn't write on a touchscreen, either. Even the keypad of the laptop is killing my wrists. That's why I still use the good old desktop PC with its good old keyboard for writing purposes. Of course, I write almost everything by hand first, but the typing up is much more comfortable on a keyboard. Not to mention faster, as I use eight fingers for typing (thumbs didn't work out).
Yeah, nothing beats an old-fashioned desktop computer keyboard for writing. Unfortunately, a desktop computer wouldn't work out for me these days. But I miss it when I'm writing a lot.
