It's a bit of a story for how this fell into my lap, but it's essentially about the life (or at least first forty-odd years of the life) of Tom Buchanan, the nemesis in The Great Gatsby. :)

It's been going at a decent clip, and the first draft is admittedly a monster: I started writing it at the end of May, and I'm about 120,000 words in now. Pre-trimming it will likely tally at 150-160K.

That does sound like an intriguing idea — the supporting characters/antagonists of classic literature are often fascinating in their own right.

And I like the character a lot better than I did now that he has a good bit more complexity.
