Okay, I have done as much as I want at this stage on the spider thing — three versions, the original description of the dream, a short fictional scribble and the longer more 'proper' story, which I'm still working ot the theme/end of. So I'll leave it for a while.
Regarding the Two People and a Death Worm on Legs, I did some dialogue about food (this is me) and where and how to have dinner in what is basically an empty 'ghost city'. It's not much — I have to restrict my urge to talk about fantasy food in detail — but it seems to be okay. The story doesn't really have a plot, but I think I can still make it work as a gentle vignetty piece without one.
Oh, and I wrote out some more Christmas cards. Amazing how the first ones have a few lines of friendly/familial chat, then they get shorter and shorter as inspiration and enthusiasm for handwriting lags...
