Day 3 (Team July)

Here is the post to update with any extracts, thoughts, or comments you might have for today.

Keep the fires burning!

(Considering the temperatures we're currently having over here, I expect spontaneous self-combusting on my part. *sighs*)

Slow progress to report, but progress! After much to-ing & fro-ing, I think I've found a compromise which adapts the first part of my overly long outline as a separate piece, with a few key changes. Not certain quite how it plays out yet, but I think it will work out. I've also reread my source novel taking character notes, and even started to put a few rough scribbles down on paper (not yet typed up) for the opening scene.

Going to bed now. Will try to catch up with other people's progress tomorrow.

Definitely progress. Hopefully it's heading in the right direction too.

Thanks! It looks like this idea has legs. Phew.

That sounds like excellent progress to me. Brilliant that the long outline is being put to immediate use, too. The rest may well be the stuff of sequels.

Thanks! A lot of the outline got sidelined in the end, but the thought that went into creating the original character was salvaged. I think this version has got legs, thankfully.

Good work, there, figuring things out with the outline. and doing the research on the characters will certainly provide good fodder when the writing comes. Good luck with the opening scene, you're off to a good start!

Thanks! The research has definitely proven useful, and now I'm actually off to a start, things are feeling less blocked.
