I won't be working on my Pico story today, because all of the non-work time I can spare has already been used up on writing up some documentation for the show I'm working on. That documentation is 3,181 words and it's in the same field that my Pico story is set in, so I'm counting it as a related project. :)

Now I have. (http://greenlily.livejournal.com/348847.html?mode=reply) :)

Well, I lost the whole of this evening to debugging an open-source application I'm one of the developer team for (there's a release due this week and a bug had been found that looked to be in one of my bits).

However, I'd managed to do a bit of writing at work (don't tell the boss) bringing scene two to an end... of sorts... and the word count to 1944, an increase of around 300. Which is nice :)

(Oh, and I fixed the bug too, so tomorrow's a writing evening)

Well done for keeping on target even when RL conspired against you!

Not too bad today, but more importantly, I've finally nailed a plot issue that's been bugging me for weeks. And also ... I'm enjoying it :)

Enjoyment is the key thing! (I keep staring at your totals in awe, btw, entirely forgetting that you're doing a QuadPicoWriMo, or whatever it's called!)

lol. If you want some true awe, do a ninja sign-up to NaNoWriMo and a spot of lurking.
You'll see some mighty impressive word totals (want to take a bow, altariel1?)

I've been awed by [livejournal.com profile] altariel1's incredible totals, but I've long been convinced that she's cloned herself. There's just no other explanation ;)

[identity profile] espresso-addict.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 11:21 am (UTC)(link)
Imagine if you also taught the clone to type with her feet!

360 words today, passing the 50% mark! I've put some final edits to chapter 5, and boldly sallied on to the uncharted waters of chapter 6. (I've deleted a couple of scenes I decided weren't 100% necessary, so I'm really setting out into the unknown here.)

The leaves assumed their autumn tints, then dropped from the trees lining Upper Camden Place, to be whisked away by the street-sweepers; the first hoar frosts of winter painted the windowpanes white and glazed the morning pavements; roast chestnuts succeeded roses in the wares cried around the streets of Bath; but our heroine – lost in a whirl of balls and dinner parties, plays and concerts, expeditions as far afield as Farley Castle and Wookey Hole, and even a trip to the races – scarcely noticed the advance in seasons.

Deep in uncharted waters now -- it took off a bit last night. Writing swiftly (for me) towards the traditionally bonkers Heyer finale now...

[identity profile] espresso-addict.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 11:18 am (UTC)(link)
I'll give you 1 and two halves on that...

I appear to be at 1885 words, though I don't trust my word counter. Lots of stuff to move around and cut, but right now I am just trying to get the words down on paper.

"'m only tellin the truth. She's a sort who'll spread her legs for anyone, Lieutenant. You c'do better, 'less you're lookin just for a good piece a' ass."

Ivan's face darkened, and he drew back a hand as if to punch the man, but Donna, who was nearly as tall and, to her surprise, just as strong, caught it and pulled Ivan back. "Lord Vorpatril, Count Vorlakial. My first ex-husband." She paused. "Drunk and crude as usual... so emphasize the ex. I feel for your wife, though I doubt she's smart enough to notice what she married besides your fortune."

Managed just under 200 words on both the pirate story and Yuletide yesterday. My Yuletide story now stands at 100 words over the minimum -- and I'm not done yet.

Sometimes when I'm down, I actually find it easier to write because it's a temporary escape from circumstances. That seems to be happening now, so... silver lining?

Oh, well done! Sympathies with the difficult circumstances; it's good that writing can give you a haven.
