2018 June, extra session, Day 23

Here is the place to tell us about your daily success (or the lack of it)!

May the magic be with us all!

Sorry for the late update. I had a busy day.

Heya I haven't forgotten you. Just haven't gotten to writing these last couple of days. I think all I did was write a little on my phone on Wednesday and then fix the typos on that later this week. Maybe I'll find some writing time tomorrow, hopefully!

Any writing counts. :)

No stories today, even true ones - instead I've been trying to write up an Age of Sail talk I went to, about supplying fleets. About 750 words so far, but I seem to have stalled.

Also I went for a walk to look at some science, but I've decided I don't need to write it up - it was a pleasant afternoon in the sunshine, but not a very good walk!

Scotland was the main source of beef at the time - cattle brought down from the Highlands to the tryst at Falkirk, and then walked on south - but pigs can’t be droved in the same way, because they get thin, and so the main area for farming pigs was in South London, where they were fed on brewery waste! There was also a nice detail about the cows - they were generally shod for the long walk south, once they were walking on roads, but a cow can’t lift up one foot at a time, and so has to be shod while lying down.

That's really interesting.

Nothing for me today except patient notes.
But I did do some research yesterday. :)
