more failure today! more no words. more coughing. more laying in bed.
i've been keeping up with everyone's progress and also messages. thanks for the thoughts and good wishes. those little 250 words here and there mean even more. never give up, people!!! i raise my glass of ill person's gruel to you and say here's to the small victories, whatever word length they may be, or in whatever form inspiration may come to take.
Oh no - I hate coughing, which always ends up with me hurting in strange places. But bed might be the best place to be while you're feeling rubbish :) I hope you're on the mend!
I am so sorry to hear you're still under the weather. Please snuggle away, stay warm, stay hydrated (no, not the wine) and get well soon!
And also, please stop with the gruel because anything that sounds so unpleasant can't be doing you any good. Some nice broth with slurpy noodles, maybe? And a thick layer of Vicks VapoRub on the chest, covered with a cloth so the jammies don't get all Vicksy.
An early post to please wiseheart, although the danger now is that I'll think I'm done for the day and stop ;)
But between the morning and lunchtime and hanging about between work and a concert I've managed to write 890 words and finish off the first day in Wales, which has become a bit of an epic (I do have about half of the second day written, I haven't been very chronological).
A hungry snippet:
The car park became full, and the 10.05 bus turned up and unloaded one person carrying several loaves of bread and another carrying a tray of eggs, and the cafe put its lights off and put them on again
In fact I was not finished, and went on to write another 748 words and finish off the second day of the Welsh report. This may make up for the fact that I essentially did nothing for the rest of the weekend...
As expected, no words today. But at least I've posted the last finished chapter of "The Trials of a Woodland King" to edhellondawards, where it can wait patiently until I get around to continue it.
During this morning's writing session I realized I had committed the Writerly Crime of Anachronism. An item playing a major role in the story wasn't invented in at the time it first appears in the story. . Eeek. How did I miss that on my first go-round? Well, there's a teensy asterisk in my notebook that says "research when this was invented"...
So I reviewed the research I'd done earlier, and did a bit more just now to see if an earlier version existed, but nope. So I have thought some less-than-deep thoughts and come up with a simple solution. Whew. So tomorrow I will do a bit of re-imagining on that scene, and add a bit to explain said item's existence in another part of the story.
I'm doubtful about writing or getting to pico posts tomorrow. A busy day ahead. Some work, but mostly play:)

Hmmm. I have been wondering what to have for dinner. Eggs and toast? It sounds good.
