And since I'm here already... I've managed to type up 4 pages from what I wrote the day before yesterday - and I promised you a snippet, didn't I?
It is from Chapter 22 of Kansas 2 - The Yellow Brick Road (https://archiveofourown.org/works/17671289/chapters/41678375), which is my ongoing Babylon 5/Star Trek: Voyager crossover; the second part of a trilogy, actually.

Excerpt:

“Can you or your Sisters be of assistance?” Delenn asked.

“No,” Zhalenn replied. “Even if we would allow any outsiders in the Temple, we currently have no strong mind-healers among us. It has been a dying art for centuries; to my knowledge none of the few Minbar still has would be strong enough to perform such a task.”

“Could more of them together do it?”

“I am sorry, Delenn; it does not work that way. This is a delicate and deeply personal process. The patient would block the invasion of multiple minds instinctively and flee to an even deeper coma – or to imminent death.”

“Is there nothing we can do to help, then?” Delenn insisted, still not willing to give up without a fight.

The priestess who had once given her life shook her head again. “Nothing that we can do, to my regret,” she emphasized. “But perhaps the Earth people can help. They have some very strong telepaths among them… even if they serve the other side.”

as per usual in this type of creative thing, i've no idea where this will end up...

Got stuck (almost) finishing a writing assignment yesterday--I'm winding down my work and not taking new assignments. But this was a favor, it seemed simple: copy editing and proofing for a new website, and of course I ended up having to do a lot of re-writing... anyway they're paying and I'm almost done.

Still looking for the right prompt for my Easter story. There's one that's so ridiculously bad , I mean really unusable, that I've been thinking about grabbing it and turning it into a tongue-in-cheek epic (short epic) poem based on "Der Zauberlehrling" (Sorcerer's Apprentice). I dunno though, maybe I'd better sleep on it, this could just be a result of cabin fever. Where is my spring????? We're supposed to get snow tomorrow.

Off to get groceries now, progress report tomorrow.

I had a pretty okay day. I was cooking along, over 700 words, then I realized that the assignment has a word count limit. Sigh... I need to go back and retool the prompt into something shorter and sweeter while keeping the other intact. 200 words on that one, so a pretty good day, all in all. And now, PIZZA!

I have really been quite productive today - I've bought a new tablet and tried on lots of waterproof shoes and posted a parcel, and I've cast on and started off a new knitting project which has six colours all joined on at once. But what I have not done so far is written a single word...

I spent much of my free time on the 1st thinking about things to write...

But on the 2nd I began something. None of the things I might have expected, but a re-telling of the story of Joseph from the Bible, following on from a talk with the manager of the tiny Christian Bookshop where I volunteer.

OK - it got to about 250 words - but I am actually really pleased with it.
