“What the hell…” Trish Davidson muttered under her breath and stepped out onto the veranda with a coffee cup in her hand, to see what was going on.
To her shocked surprise she spotted several dozen ebony black Dairu who had already surrounded their camp and were now approaching with alarming speed, moving with the deadly uniformity only insects – or insectoid species – were capable of.
“Awww, shucks, we seem to have outlived our welcome by the bugs,” she concluded with her typical gallows’ humour.
