I published Lucia's War e-book in June this year, and the paperback in August. I did it myself but got it into several bookshops as well as Amazon. It's also getting some great feedback on Goodreads and Amazon. Sales are modest, but this time around it's just me, so am just entering it into as many prizes as possible and hopefully that will boost its profile.
During the summer and autumn I wrote nothing but a short story which I have submitted off to places. It's about being sued for defamation based on my personal experience of...being sued for defamation. Basically it's a "screw you" against Ireland's ridiculous libel laws.
Now I'm starting the second draft of a crime novel which I hope I can get traditionally published, simply because it's less work and expense! It's about a closeted trans cop and her Chinese colleague who have to unravel who murdered a beautiful, charismatic Anglo-Irish eco-activist. I might check in here from time to time :)
Hi again! I'm so glad to hear you're writing and that you did finish Lucia's story.
The crime story sounds fantastic, what intriguing characters you come up with. I hope you do check in now and then, I definitely want to hear more about this book.
