Again, moderate progress today. I've rearranged and re-written several scenes, the rough draft of which have existed for a week or two and finished Chapter 17 with another death for Jack. A good thing death isn't a permanent condition for him. Ianto was not pleased, though, as the snippet below shows.

Ianto had just returned to his administrative duties when the alarm went off. He didn't react to it; not anymore. After the first couple of weeks he got used to the fact that these alarms were for security and he only needed to answer them when personally summoned. Compared with his work at Torchwood Three this was positively comfortable.
This time, however, Jess was summoning him through a private channel only Torchwood personnel had access to.
"Ianto, go to the interrogation room. Ethan's shot Jack; I think he's dead."
Iantop sighed. "Not again!"
In one thing there wasn't much difference between working for the ARC or for Torchwood Three: Jack still got killed at irregular intervals.
