Yesterday I spent about 90 minutes listening to one of the oral history recordings and taking notes — about 6 pages of hand-written notes.
Today I wrote up the precis from the notes — about 1,000 words.
This time it was a file about the hotel trade in the late 1990s — not as interesting to me, personally, as some of the earlier ones, but still interesting to see how things have changed in such a short time — for example the family company involved owned 4 hotels in the south of the island ; about 250 beds. Today not one of them still exists.
