I looked up GDV - it sounds horrible. Poor Eddie.

We were actually able to get her to the emergency room--they operated but they couldn't save enough of her stomach for her to be able to live without pain so we agreed she shouldn't come out of the anesthesia. There doesn't seem to be any realistic way of guarding against GDV.

Oh, how awful for you! All that waiting and hoping. I saw the picture of Eddie on your lj - such a beautiful friendly dog. She must have been a wonderful companion.
