What I like about this is that this is an ethical question completely relevant to their current situation. One could look at it as project work before schools were keen on that sort of activity.

Interestingly enough I found an old girls 1903 annual, long after I'd written the piece. There was a whole "agony aunt" article about what to do about a girl who had been found cheating in class. A real ethical issue, as you say!
