Brick in the Wall

I don't know about others, but I've been finding this third week tough going. (Like I'd hit the wall.) [livejournal.com profile] espresso_addict made me feel better by the simple trick of subtracting my wordcount from the total (I can't believe I didn't think of this!). So now it's a countdown rather than a count-up, and it all feels a lot more achievable. Good vibes to you all.

Well... I have stopped my wordcounting at all, because I am pretty sure that between the unfinished Donna/Ivan piece and the Novella That Ate My Life, I am well over 5000 words.

BTW, I think everyone should post a link to their finished work whenever they finish it...

Well, having hit my original target two days ago, I have re-adjusted my goals. But I am also resetting the word counter, partly because it's a new chapter but mostly because it looks better!

That is to say, when you add 500 words to an existing 6200 (or 1700 words to an existing 29000) the change you get doesn't look much. But adding 300 words to your 500 looks a lot, and taking 1700 off your 19981 remaining makes a decent sized dent.

For myself, I keep hitting walls. And what's *really* been helping, is reading the many encouraging posts of others doing Pico, as they struggle with their inner demons. So thankyou guys! :)

I'm finding this tough going now I'm past halfway too. But everyday there's a post asking for updates and I feel guilty when I don't have one. Then read everyone else's comments and that inspires me to write more.
