I think it would hit me the same way. I found I was less productive this winter than I had been in the three other seasons and general energy as well as creativity picked up when it started getting significantly lighter in late March or so. Is your internet connection sorted now or was the problem weather-related?
There was probably also a bit of an out-of-words effect, too, given that I wrote & revised ~28k in 37 days in Nov/Dec, some of which were on the lorry moving furniture to Scotland!
The internet connection is sort of fixed. BT Internet is, apparently, literally unable to supply new connections less than 8Mb, while the local wiring here only goes up to 450kb. So, while the previous occupants' BT a/c was working, we were fine. As soon as they tried to transfer it to our name, divide by zero error. It took 6 weeks, about 3 days total on the telephone including some calls to people in India who were literally incapable of understanding where we lived, and some tersely worded e-mails to the BT chief exec before we got that sorted. It helped my OH has worked in telecomms a lot. Someone down the road with less persistent rudeness is still waiting ~8 months down the line.
450k is like going back in time but is just about usable for text websites, as long as only one of us is online. If we're both on at once, it doesn't seem to be able to give either of us enough bandwidth to get Google to load... We have a satellite dish, but what with one thing & another, it's still lying around in the corner of the kitchen...

on 2015-07-14 01:16 am (UTC)Internet access has become like electricity. Life can continue without it, but what quality is it?
You might have needed a break after finishing such a big project in late autumn, but probably not six-months' worth.
