This thread is to describe your next planned project starting in December. It can be any length. In November some went for 500 or 5000 words, one or two even for 10000 or 20000.

- The aim of this community is to help keep people writing.
- To this end we have (at least weekly) prompts for people to post about what progress they're making and to give encouragement to others to hit their writing targets.
- There are no goals other than those you set for yourself, and no compulsion beyond what you put upon yourself. There are no limits on genre, style, age, or experience, and both fiction and non-fiction are welcome.
- Participants are welcome to post excerpts (rated for a general audience), ask questions and for advice, provide insight into the writing life, and so on. Although we are not a reviewing, editing, or beta-reading community, links to completed stories are also welcome.
- The only thing we ask is that you help keep the atmosphere friendly and supportive.

on 2006-12-04 07:06 pm (UTC)- Finish chapter 5.
- Then write 5,000 words of chapter 6.
If I have extra energy in the season of waddling like a duck after Christmas dinner, I may add a further target.
Quill and Coronet is an adventure/romance based in a fictional world with medieval technology. My chapters tend to be long, around 10,000 words, and I'm a bit over halfway through the first volume.

on 2006-12-07 12:56 pm (UTC)Although the only surprise the chapter 6 planning has thrown up so far is that the last scene of chapter 5 is no good. Half of it needs to happen later, which will make the other half all wrong. And there's a missing scene too.

on 2006-12-05 03:51 am (UTC)I haven't set a word target for the month; since I'll be concentrating on revisions it doesn't seem likely that I'll be adding many new words.

on 2006-12-06 11:35 pm (UTC)Indeed it will :) Warm days are much overrated.
Sounds a worthy list of objectives, I look forward to reading the fruits of your labours.

on 2006-12-05 05:33 pm (UTC)Write something everyday, no matter how many shiny distractions are thrown in my path. Theoretically I'm going for a 1000 words a day, but in reality I'll be happy with 10, lol.

on 2006-12-05 06:37 pm (UTC)1) Finish the story I was working on during Pico. I can feel the end nearing and I'd really like to be typing it all up/editing by January. At the very LEAST I want to write 170 words a day on it.
2) Write a short Faramir drabble-type-thingy.
3) Write a short Remus/Tonks Christmas fic.
As always, any form of comments, heckling, prodding, harassing to keep me on track are most welcome :D Heck, maybe I should set up an approapriate entry in my LJ for it...
