The last weekly update prompt has passed 25 entries, so here's a supplementary prompt for your updates, excerpts, any thoughts, etc for the rest of the week.
Not been going well chez Espresso Addict, I've been a hair's breadth away from defaulting on my impossible yuletide story, but I've just almost doubled the number of words ... unfortunately only up to 280, but still...
When I recall that Douglas Adams, 95% of his way through his deadline for a novel had done one sentence, your yuletide work sounds positively prolific! Just keep plugging away, sometimes the first words are the hardest to get down.
Sorta stalled this week... I've managed another 500 words on that short story - behold! my might word counter!
I've done a short piece for bodyandsoul100 but I've not had the energy or the attention span for much else. I am still sticking to my "write every day" target, even if I can only manage a single sentence, lol
Yes, I too have lapsed on the "every day" thing, and I too am finding it very hard to get back. That "chance to recover" when I hit my revised November target was a bad idea.
I think the daily prompts here were very useful; once this post scrolls off one's f'list (within 24 hours for me) then the prod to write has disappeared. Not that I think the community could keep up that much energy for very long...
I'm up to 7,731 words on the as yet unnamed B7/Narnia crossover. The end is almost in sight, but December is such a busy month (not just the usual seasonal stuff - gifts, parties, waiting in long queues at the PO - but the extra end of year load at work) I'm not sure I'll finish it this year after all. :-(
Oh, well done. It's hard to keep plugging away at longer stories. Before Christmas isn't the best time to post anyway, with all the ficathons, if you find you're delayed to the New Year.
I don't expect a huge readership, not writing B7, but people will undoubtedly have more time to read after Christmas. I certainly will because I won't be working.
