One last effort, my friends, before pre-Christmas frenzy overtakes us all...

Here is the place to tell us about your daily success (or the lack of it)!
May the magic be with us all!

The opposite of my problems the day I did all my writing after midnight! I decided it counted, since I hadn't been to bed :)

It sounds like you had fun coming up with all the details, at least.

I love that you set your imagination free, to let it all out first, get all those ideas on paper:)

editing is the hardest part. those critical decisions! i always keep a 'dead' file of all the bits i've cut, just because i can't let go of the bits until the whole thing is done. just because they're not in the final piece doesn't devalue the work imo.

your last comment has fired off the ferretbrain - fb is very similar to a turning machine - and it's popped something out.

1. why can't the research be a stand-alone piece in and of itself?
2. have you heard or ever read Tales of Nevèrÿon?

if one is getting that much /inside/ a world and exploring the archeology (for want of a better word) of that world, then it is purely logical imo to be looking at producing supporting documentation - we have maps of these worlds, we have language for these worlds in terms of translations of each characters dialects, therefore why wouldn't we things like what they would read, or enjoy themselves? in exploring that 'other world' culture, we are as writers some strange anthropologists unearthing as we go...

i'll shut up now...

i hate this type of fandom facism. i don't see why anyone can't create their own little versionette and play inside that. i love reading the au variants.

saying that if one is writing to order, i accept that one must adhere to forms of the requestee.

Greetings, and belated holiday wishes to those who celebrated Thanksgiving!

Between the holiday and now, I've been steadily going from feeling under the weather with sore throat and headache to a bad cold. I'm just wrung out. Wednesday and Thursday were very busy with all things Thanksgiving, and for three days since, I've been mostly resting, reading, napping, and sleeping.

I wrote a little bit on Friday, only a half-page, but enough to get a complete thought on paper. And this morning I thought of a different spin I could give to a scene that just wasn't sitting well, and got a nice start on that before I ran out of steam. Fingers crossed for energy, and some productive writing days for the remainder of Pico.

i raise my paw in solidarity with your under-the-weatherness. seems november is the plague month!

sometimes being enforced to rest gives rise to new ideas. if only we could be so disciplined as to see resting as part of the process!

The random ideas pop out at the most unexpected times! I'm glad I made myself pick up my notebook and write it down:)

I've been on the go all day, and now I am really exhausted:) Fortunately, the cold is improving!

780 words on two blog posts - finally finishing the one about the bridges, and writing one about yesterday's wanderings. But the books are feeling a bit neglected...

Steam as a method of power was not at all new by this stage - the first Newcomen pumping engines were nearly 100 years old, and it was more than 20 years since Watt had invented a way for his improved engine to produce rotary motion

after 10 days of something similar to a Norsesaga drinking competition, with bodies laying all around us, empty drinking vessels and broken furniture - is that someone's finger? - we'd just end up realising we agreed. on everything. then we'd have to clean up and apologise to everyone, if there was anyone left with the will to live, and i'm not good at that.
