March 2019. Day 22

Do you realize that two thirds of the current session are already behind us? Where has the time gone? Anyway:

Here is the place to tell us about your daily success (or the lack of it)!
May the magic be with us all!

Who wanted to see my knitting? It's not spread out very well, because I was halfway through a row at the time. And the purple in the middle is really a lot more purple than that.

That's going to be beautiful! You're not carrying all the colors across the whole row are you?

Excellent! It sounds like you're inspired.

That is such a tedious thing and exactly what I'm sort of stuck doing, too. Keep up the good work.

Revisiting is necessary if tedious! It's impossible to remember everything you wrote/were thinking a decade ago. Did you already have the ending in mind back then? Are you still going in the same direction?

I'm finished up a preliminary beta and yet another Batman story. It's ready to go it my beta, whose eyes I know are tired...

A taste -

Emerald eyes studied him in the mirror's reflection for a moment, then she shook her head gently. "The cards only say so much, my masked brother. The trick is knowing how to interpret them. That's also the case with people. You are not here to watch my show or to wax poetic at my feet."

"Roman is dead." Batman didn't mince the words, there was no need. Circe's hatred for Black Mask hadn't waned over the years; there would be no tears for the fallen cosmetic king.

"Roman died years ago. He died when he became Black Mask." The words were spoken softly, without sympathy. "How did he die?"

"Burned to death. Someone set him on fire." Batman halted his approach a few feet from her.

"It seems appropriate. I hope he suffered just as I have." The mask was removed and Circe turned to face the crimefighter. Unlike most of the men she faced, Batman neither flinched at the sight nor pitied her for what had happened. She had made a wrong decision and she had to live with that, just as he had to live with the decisions he made. Somehow, although invisible to the naked eye, the scars he carried were just as hideous and mutilating.

300 new words to show for a 90 minute effort today, re-working the beginning of the story.
I hadn't intended to work on that part of the story, but that's what sat up and waved at me:)

Think how many words I could have written this month if I hadn't been doing all that knitting...

220 words this morning about canals, and then I made it a knitting day - it has to be finished in less than a week!

The Wheel is the other great landmark of the canal, built to relink the two canals when the Union Canal was reopened as a Millenium project. It's impressive, and unique - the only boat lift of its kind in the world - and has been very good for the canals (but is all a bit modern for me!).

A few sentences for me. I think I almost got done, but not quite. Hopefully will be able to finish on Monday.
