After almost a fortnight, today I wrote two pages for Chapter 30 of Kansas 2 - The Yellow Brick Road! I'm so insanely happy that my muse didn't fell victim to re-decorating hell, after all! Here, have some Minbari musings!
Excerpt:
Nidell went out with the fighting troops, too. Not for some nebulously romantic reason humans might have seen in the act, though. Minbari saw nothing romantic in useless sacrifices. Had Nidell not been a trained Warrior, she would not have volunteered for the fighting troops; and even if she did, Neroon would not let her off the ship.
While it was true that all Minbari lived to serve, people were also supposed to serve in a place that suited their abilities best – for the good of the crew, for the good of Clan and Caste; for the good of the whole Minbar. It was that simple, and useless heroics had no place in the time-honoured order of Minbari society.
Back from vacation and what RL had waiting for me upon our return.
No writing on July 4th and 7th, but other than that I have been writing every day, usually for an hour. Continuing work on a WIP, some parts needing more work than others, and I found in my original notes a dream sequence that I haven't even begun, so I'll be tackling that soon, as most of the rest is roughly finished. After that comes the tweaking and polishing, and I expect that will use up the rest of my pico.
I have kept up with my daily journal posts from the Flower Festival. I am now feeling quite happy to consider them my effort to write each day as each one is taking me at least an hour!

on 2019-07-10 05:29 pm (UTC)That’s not what happened. The steel of the house sang to him. Frowning, Steel reached out with his other hand.
Tell me what happened
Not how it happened. Trapped.
Who is trapped?
We are. All of us are.
Steel let his hands drop and immediately Sapphire was at his side. “Steel are you all right?”
“The construction of the house disagrees with the official story.”
“I beg your pardon.”
He looked at his hand. “It spoke to me, the steel."
