Here is the place to tell us about your daily success (or the lack of it)!

May the magic be with us all!

Good going! Lots of writing work plus the crafty stuff (I just peeked at your journal).

I worked on my story plus some other story-related activities for an hour. I was hoping for more, but I'll settle for today's hour.

I needed to look at some articles to get a feel for the setting of the story. But one article leads to another and another...

Hey, that's still forward movement and that's what counts.

Yup. Plus I had to do the story-related stuff to get a feel for a couple of the prompts, so it was definitely working on the story!

An hour is a nice solid piece of time :-)

I hope for some longer sessions but if I hit my goal of 1 hour/day that's going to be quite satisfying!

I wasn't expecting anything today as I had a late night and an early morning (I wish someone would explain to cats about weekends). However, the Muse settled upon me and I logged 3,006 words this morning, and another story nearly done.

a taste -

The woman Napoleon Solo was helping was looking a bit anxious. He came up to her and offered her the bottle with a flourish. “Margaret, my sweet, serve your guests this and they will never want to leave.”

“It’s my son-in-law and his brother… I’m not keen on them staying too long.” Margaret studied the label. “This does sound good, though.”

Napoleon, without missing a beat, turned and pulled another bottle off the rack. “Then try this one. It’s good, but not too good. Save that one for when the ladies come.”

“You are sweet, Napoleon, thank you.” She added the bottles, along with four more to her little cart. “What would we do without you?”

“Drive sober?” Alfred, his head clerk, murmured softly and Napoleon slapped him gently in the stomach. “Sorry, couldn’t resist.”

I did knit through all the little afternoon concerts, and I'm more or less back to where it was before it all went wrong - the band of plain knitting between the main lacy bit and the edge.

I will report on words when I have some!

But hopefully I'll have more soon once I'm less distracted by knitting to a deadline...

It feels nice - I'm now knitting with wool that has never been knitted before!

Oh, no! You seem to be having no luck with your knitting as of late!

I did write some words, too - scraps on an even older Age of Sail talk, on naval justice (main conclusion: much better than non-naval justice at the time!). A bit more than the 100, I think, but nothing very snippetable.

punishment itself was never a complaint in the contemporary mutinies, only its cruel or inconsistent application on particular ships
