No new words, due to a craft project that proved harder to get done than expected. But I've transcribed the last scene of Chapter 15.
Excerpt:
“This must have been a glorious place in its heyday,” says Merlin, amazed; because not even the Camelot he knows can come close. “I wonder who the people were who originally lived here.”
Vivian shrugs. “Who knows? For the next two days, though, it belongs to us,” she takes his hand and leads him towards what once must have been the royal bedchamber, if the enormous, four-poster bed with its brocaded curtains is any indication. It seems firmly existent, too, unlike the rest of the castle. “Shall we follow Lord Herne’s advice?”
Merlin feels his ears burn. “I… I wouldn’t know how,” he admits. The only woman he’s ever been drawn to was Freya, and she was killed ere they could have gone beyond kissing.
I finished the chapter. It only took about 200 words to wrap it up.
Then I (literally) passed it over to my beta to have a look at and he discovered, to his amusement, the 'read out loud' facility on Word; for some reason he has never noticed it on his own computer! It copes remarkably well with the Tolkien stuff, and has a slightly Welsh accent :)
Oh man, I lost track of how many words I wrote today but it was well over 2k. I only have three scenes left to add to at this point - so close!
Today, the biggest challenge was tackling a scene where a character deals with their depression via drinking heavily - not something I have much experience in myself. But after thinking through different approaches over the last week, I'm finally happy with what I've got down, where the character indulges, does something stupid, but then realizes his mistake and vows to do better. All this over the course of a lot of hurt feelings on all sides, but they get there in the end. :)

“Don’t worry,” says Vivian gently. “I shall teach you.”
