And since I'm already here - I had a great start. I've finished Chapter 8 and started Chapter 9 - altogether more than 8 hand-written pages. It will be a little less typed up but hey, I'm really not complaining!
TBH, it wasn't such a difficult task, as I used the scene from "The Hounds of Baskerville" (Sherlock BBC, Series 2) as a template to get my gang into the secret UNIT lab. Only the structure of the scene and a couple of dialogue lines, for which I'll give full credit and disclaimer, but they fit so well into my concept that I couldn't resist. I might rewrite the dialogue lines later, though, when I transcribe the stuff. As an inspiration, however, they worked like a charm. *g*

Next they came to the lab of Major Muriel Frost: a temperamental redhead with a strong American accent, wearing military fatigues and a tank top under her lab coat. She didn’t seem particularly bothered by a bunch of strangers showing up unexpectedly.
“Ah, new faces, huh?” she smiled broadly. “Nice. Which one of you is the geneticist they’ve promised us?”
“That would be me,” Lloyd said, realizing that Tosh must have somehow smuggled a fake announcement of their arrival into the lab’s mail. How she managed to do it was beyond her, but that was Tosh for you.
I managed to scribble 240 words of I hope mildly spooky stuff - imagery mostly - about water stains in an old bedroom and the little girl that sleeps there... just a fragment, but I've kept it because it seems to work :)
The stains on the ceiling, they look like eyes. Very small, dark, cold eyes. And in the dark, cold evening, they look like they are watching me.

I worked on a variety of writing projects today. Tonight I finally got around to getting re-acquainted with the WIP I was working on this summer. I didn't do any writing on that - I just wanted to get up to speed with the last section I was revising. So I have a goal for tomorrow to finalize one scene and get the next one re-written.
As usual, my goal is to write for an hour each day.
Fun fact: I wrote a story for a Halloween challenge, and kept track of my time. Because I have been writing more these past few months, I hoped I'd improve on how long it takes me to write a story. But nope. From the first idea-gathering and random note writing to the finished product, it still comes up to one hour per 100 words:)
Yay day one! I wrote notes while watching a zoom lesson on Mark ch 6. It's a fun series because the two people who are giving it are very knowledgeable and *hilarious*.
Isn't it interesting, the way that a positive side-effect of the pandemic is that there is so much informative stuff available on line to those of us who are not within easy reach of major education centres.
I didn't get around to writing until later in the day, but I managed a healthy 700 words despite the delay! A good start on something in my current fandom and a few notes around my idea for my Yuletide assignment. Feeling pretty good about my start!
So my Sunday was actually a very productive writing day.
I got started on my exchange fic (the designated November project) on Saturday evening and probably wrote some more on it after midnight since I sat on it until very late. Then I got 150 words or so in on Sunday proper, I've made a deal with myself I must write at least 100 words on it daily, then I'm allowed to poke at other things.
So then I edited another ficlet and started another one for a ship week, I got 1600 words written on it.
That's probably more writing than I have been done all October so I'm pretty pleased.
Downside: I only got 3 hours of sleep last night so I expect today's word count will be 0.
