Inspiration hit unexpectedly today and I wrote almost two pages to an unfinished chapter of my werewolf "Pathways" story.
Excerpt: Two days before the Crescent Moon Dance of the local Uktena, Far Runner – formerly the warrior chief of a small Cherokee tribe and blood brother of Blackfeather since their mortal days – was roaming the wooded area beyond the reservation with his Childe, Shadow Spirit. Both went in wolf form because they had promised Una Half Moon, the Alpha of the Uktena pack, to keep an eye on Forgotten Teeth, the ill-humoured ancient Wendigo currently visiting the area, and being in wolf form made it earlier to sniff out the cantankerous old werewolf.
I got the basic format and a lot of the words (albeit maybe not the final ones) done for my little alien flower story. Now to leave it for a while and then rework...
Wrote about 1900 words today! Alas, my team did not win the Battleship exchange, but man, I wrote a lot of gifts. 18 to be exact. All the works are revealed here, but I can't say which ones are mine until author reveals: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/battleship2021
It was a pause day for the WIP, although it is not because I am stuck.
My sister rang to ask if I could do the Family Time slot at church; she had just realised it was her turn, but she was going to be working. So actually I did do some writing — I planned a 4 minute talk on the theme of Moving On, and wrote notes for it :)
Thank you. She knew I would have something — I have worked with the kids at church since my own daughter was in the under 8s group, and would probably have had something suitable on my computer. But in this instance there was actually enough time to think of something new :)
Torn between programming , screenwriting (no pun), cartooning, calligraphy, and a day job,.. I updated the ol' #tmtwngm community with ganked Reddit screenwriting enthusiasts updating their r/screenwriting community with swapping proposals. Time consuming research as I Google each redditor for multi-social media accounts but only found one lj user who abandoned his blog several years ago. I decided, for those redditors whom alternative social media accounts don't exist, they are the plagiarists phishing for intellectual property they can borrow.
And, for any future members of tmtwngm, you heard it at tmtwngm first! i wish I could figure out how community moderators manage to bring in so many members to their community of screenwriters. In any case, this seems like a good idea while I wait for the writing bug to bite my ear off and force me to drag out the manual typewriter.
