I have written today! Granted, only a few paragraphs (that will serve as the beginning of Christmas Gift Fic #3), but it is more than I've produced during the entire last week, so I'm content.
Excerpt: It was an illustrious gathering that took place in Miss Marple's drawing room on the following Tuesday... presumably for tea. In truth, everyone wanted to hear — and from the source — how she had unravelled the mystery surrounding poor Anna-Mae Smith's death, who, apparently, had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The vignette is a tie-in to this unfinished story (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9541772/1/Precious-Like-Rubies), in case anyone is interested.
Didn't do much today, I got caught up in other stuff, but I have been researching pictures of fantasy/historical/evil ruins for my little story, and also thinking about names. And dialogues. And how ordinary people manage doing ordinary things in a fantasy world.
And why on earth these characters are travelling through this abandoned city (apart from the obvious 'if they don't I don;t have a story!') If I was writing literary fiction, I probably wouldn't need a reason, but I have me writing literary fiction would result ia brand new and totally ridiculous prose form in itself... maybe.
So no real wordage, but a few thoughts to work out and write down in my Memorandum Book.
Actually, a Memorandum Book is a good idea. I have my plotbunnies jotted down on loose pieces of paper and never find them when I need one. Maybe I'll make myself a Memorandum Book — it could turn out an interesting craft project, if nothing else.
I have used a yellow spiralbound notebook for some years now, ever since I got given a dozen of them by someone clearing out :) I also use OneNote on the computer for web clippings etc but I still have trouble navigating that, I'm a slow learner.
Day 21: No writing yesterday, I was under the weather and am still not back up to speed. I worked on the plot today for about a half hour, just getting things sorted out.
