Poll results and sign-up for the mid-year pico

Well, folks, since there haven't been any new voters for the last two days, I've now officially closed the poll. Looking at the results, it seems that there are 6 people who checked June exclusively, 6 people who checked July and 8 people who said they could do both.

So, therefore I'm abusing the power gifted upon me by altariel the Great and decide that we'll follow her excellent advice and do the mid-year pico in two teams: Team June and Team July. (And, as someone has suggested, I insert a proper Bwahaha! here. *g*)

In any case, please sign up to the team of your choice. As promised, I'll do the daily posts for Team June and most of July, and my sincerest thanks for the volunteers who offered to take over between July 8-14.

Expect the kick-off post for Team June next Wednesday.

I think it's actually your own website, the one you gave me the link to. I don't visit any archives that accept Real Person Fic, on principle. When the Library of Moria, the Tolkienfic slash archive changed its politics and started accepting RPS, I pulled all my stories from there.

I hate RPS / RPF too unless it's historical figures; I've read some lovely Roman stuff. My site will never have any unless a character travels back in time, and I doubt that.

Oh, I quite agree, on both accounts. Historic figures are okay for me, assuming they've been dead for at least 200 years. One should take the feelings of any possible descendants into consideration.

I, too, read some loveyl stuff posted to the classic_slash comm. Unfortunately, it has been quite dead for a while.

Umm, make that "completely dead". I've just realized the comm has been purged. A shame, it had some interesting Achilles stories. And I never saved them. *sighs*

I answered June in the first poll because I will be away from mid-July but the first week of June is school holiday and not easy either so if I have the option, I set myself a sort of 5 week period spanning the two as an incentive to stop overworking and make some time for life.

First time participant here, thanks to altariel's post about it.

I've clicked 'both' tentatively. Will definitely be doing June, with the goal of finishing a novella-length fic,begun in March for the Back of Middle-Earth Month 2012 that visited inspiration and doom upon so many of us in the Tolkien fandom. My dictatorial strictures upon myself for June shall be: One 500 to 2,000 word chapter completed every other day.
