Ouch, that sounds fascinating (and the sort of thing you can't exactly benefit from by writing into a story...)

I don't think the academics ever stop to think that it sounds silly, but they always do talk about chairs rather than professors, and I always picture the upholstered kind :)

Another time they were having lots of platforms... I know there have been more, but I can't remember them now!
