Dear participants,

The November session starts tomorrow, so feel free to tell us what are your plans for this all-important month. We're all here to cheer each other on, after all. Even if you aren't up to actual writing, taking a look and encouraging the others counts as a Good Deed in the eyes of God, Our Lord - and in the eyes of each poor, struggling writer. ;))

May the magic be with us all!

Hello! I won't be around for writing until next week at the earliest. Not sure yet what I'll be writing on, usually I spend Pico working on fic exchange assignments but I only have one assignment (Star Wars Rare Pairs exchange) to work on in November - so this will definitely be my Pico work, but not sure what else I'll be working on. Maybe some writing for myself, I've been trying to do more of that again lately but it's hard to get out of the exchange mill when there is always some new exchange being advertised.

Writing fic that isn't for fic exchanges and thus geared towards my recipient's likes, which is what most of my writing has been this and last year.

It's nice to be able to write to your own specifications--but without the pressure of a deadline, I find those are stories that I can't seem to let go of... there's always one more edit!

That's so true! I also keep wanting to fiddle with my stories. It's so much easier with the pressure to wrap it up and move on to the next project.

Pico arriving now is great for working on holiday story exchanges! Good luck with your Star Wars Rare Pairs project. Looking forward to following your progress.

Thank you! Yeah, if I'm going to sighn up for any Secret Santas I'll add them to my Pico schedule, but right now I don't have an eye on anything specific (well, there was one thing but that would have started now and I need to start over on Rares, so I don't want another assignment until I've made progress on that)

That sounds like a fantastic goal for Pico, though a daunting one in itself.

That's a big job! If you get sick of it, you can always switch off to something else for a few days though.

I'm going to write! OK, well considering what I haven't been doing for months now, that's a goal :)

Within the next ten days or so I'll have to pick a set of prompts for the mfu Christmas exchange story; hopefully there'll be something I can work with sooner rather than later. I'll be working on that story most of the month. Before that starts, I'm going to try to do one or two vignettes: mood pieces just to experiment a bit and get back in the habit of writing a little every day.

I'm also woefully behind on my correspondence, but always feel that while it's writing, it's a bit of a cheat during pico. But it's there as a backup!

I hope you'll find a wealth of MFU story requests to choose from!

My goal is like yours: to write:) Anything:)

I'll wait a few days till there's a selection. I should track the post tbh, then if there's something fabulous I can nab fast!

It's always more fun to struggle together ;)

I haven't made a selection yet, and it's November 5th. I will make a decision in a day or so. Clock's ticking!

I know! tbh, I liked yours best so far but thought I should broaden my horizons a bit and someone went and nabbed it :D

I was looking at the Rainbow Room one because I've actually been there so research would be minimal, but it looks like she wants Napoleon het and I just can't.

If worse comes to worst I'll just take one and concentrate on one of the prompts rather than all three.

As usual, I think I will mostly be writing facts. I'd like to catch up with some Age of Sail stuff, because I tend to neglect it because it takes more concentration - but I've always got walk reports to write!

I would like to write every day. I would like to write at least 100 words every day, if I can.

This may mean that sometimes I have to scribble down 100 words of *something* - a walk report or whatever - early in the day, so that it doesn't matter if the main thing I'm trying to work on doesn't get beyond a note-taking stage - otherwise I end up prioritising the words and just doing what's easiest, in order to have something to report...

Then there's Yuletide - I'd like to have at least an idea by the end of the month. And I have another knitting project on the go...

I'm gonna set kukuklok (https://kukuklok.com/) when I start, and then lock the door.

It's fun looking out the window :)

I love the kukulkok:) I was thinking of finding a time-o-meter that works like a word-o-meter and post my time every day. Anything to avoid actually writing:)

My desk faces the wall. I am seriously tempted to turn it around or move it to a different spot so I can see outside. Letting my thoughts drift among the trees makes a writing session so appealing.
