I worked a little on my story yesterday, and today I was really in the mood to work on the changes, so I spent a couple of hours on it, including some lovely reading about mountains near Geneva which took up over a half an hour and will result in the name of a mountain in the story:)

Yes! I could have gotten away with a vague 'the nearby mountainside', but I really do enjoy looking at locations and the geographical features:)

Nothing like a positive result from pleasure reading :) You sound like you're fairly satisfied with your progress though.

I was making some decent progress, then once again, just couldn't focus on it. I know what the problem is. The deadline isn't close enough yet:)

As I said on my own journal, today was a very shortened, very final day at work in a very empty workplace, so I cam home feeling unsettled and odd and "omigod that's it" ... not much serious writing but I did do that post describing it (if any of you would like to read my humble posts, feel free to friend!) and a few scribbly ideas and descriptions of former and, well, now ex-workmates...

It's important that you do stuff like that to give yourself the closure you need. I will need to go off and read it.

I think so too - I'll get used to it, but the switch was more abrupt than I was expecting.

Another ~150 words on Captain Cook, but I'm not finished with him yet.

And I haven't even read my library book today (Henry VII is dead, but there's another chapter to go), so I don't really know what I have been doing. All this time and still nothing gets done...

precursors to Cook’s voyages included a 1735 joint French and Spanish voyage to the equator to measure the roundness of the world, and Wallis’s 1765 voyage in the Dolphin which was the first to visit Tahiti.

You certainly don't seem to be through with the captain yet..

I'm just being slow :) But it's another time where I took slightly garbled notes while listening to someone, and untangling them takes work!

They're too wrapped up in their own thing. Not that I blame them, it's kind of freaky right now.
