Ladies and ... other ladies (since the gentlemen have abandoned us years ago, I've excellent news: "The Toreador Chronicles" is finished! After 16 years and 40 chapters, I finally have it out of my hair! Yay!

No snippet today since I haven't typed up the last two scenes yet, but when the whole thing goes online (hopefully tomorrow, but the day after at the latest) I'll post a link for those who want to immerse themselves in an ungodly long, multiple crossover vampire story. (One can always hope, right?)

Yesterday I spent about 90 minutes listening to one of the oral history recordings and taking notes — about 6 pages of hand-written notes.

Today I wrote up the precis from the notes — about 1,000 words.

This time it was a file about the hotel trade in the late 1990s — not as interesting to me, personally, as some of the earlier ones, but still interesting to see how things have changed in such a short time — for example the family company involved owned 4 hotels in the south of the island ; about 250 beds. Today not one of them still exists.

We're home at last. I've done next to no writing in the past week. If I manage to have something to report, I will stop by!

An unexpected find today, in a very civilised street just up from where I used to dance - two stones in the road still marking the spot where the last two highwaymen to be executed in Scotland were hanged, in January 1815.
