I don't know how much forward movement I had with regard to plot today; I noodled around with some ideas, not sure any of them are worthy of much follow up but we'll see.
I'm basing this story on some non-existent technology that the series introduces but doesn't take very seriously. I'm using it a bit seriously, but it is a very ridiculous technology and so I don't want to make too much of it, I just want to examine some interesting effects. I'm sure that explains nothing :D :D It has to do with memory...

Anyway, I'm stumbling along and will eventually get to where I'm meant to go!

The problem with non-existing technology is that there are always nerds who'd accuse you of not using it "properly" — whatever that might mean. I had my share of rude reviewers in the Star Trek fandom in this area...

Luckily that won't happen in this fandom, no one will complain about the details, but it's for my own peace of mind. I'm not comfortable if I'm writing something that I haven't thought through a bit.
