I did three ficlets, about 1100 words in total :) I'm now going to revise them and upload them, and will add links :) They are very simple (and waaaaay over 3 sentences) but still.
I also have one sentence of another which is haunting me... I may try and finish it tomorrow.
I may have finished my essay. lol It's a little more hodgepodge than usual. Threw it at my 'beta' but it was near the end of the day, so probably won't get it back until Monday.
If the words aren't there, they aren't there. Sometimes I push myself, and the result is so uninspired I then delete them all the next day and feel depressed about it...
I hope you can do better today! Ups and downs are part of it. Have some virtual chocolate.
I got a message in the morning that the person who was meant to open the small churches' bookshop was not well. He asked could I go down and put a notice on the door to say it was closed for the day, but I knew that there was an event in the church whose grounds the bookshop is in, and I decided it would look bad if we were closed, so I dropped everything and went down and opened the shop for the day. It was worth it as a number of people came down even if it was only to buy a card or two.
But by the time I got home I had to make custard for a half finished trifle needed for a meal I am helping cater for today. Then I grabbed a cup of coffee and got out again as I was meeting friends for dinner, in a town about 14 miles away. It was nice to see them, a good meal — and by the time I got home around 10.30pm I definitely wasn't in the right frame of mind to write!
On day 3 and 4 I each only managed to scramble out the bare minimum 100 words right before going to bed (better than on day 2 when I didn't even touch any of my writing files)
So I haven't made any actual progress on the story since I just wrote whatever quick filler words I could cobble together but oh well. Keeping the flow going
In my course last session, someone quoted Ray Bradbury: "Write a short story every week. All fifty-two of them can't be horrible." He may be over-optimistic, but I am going to try to do that even if they are just ficlets...
A very introductory bit on Cook's first voyage - 127 words. I was really hoping to get more than the bare minimum done, but it didn't seem to work out that way.
Cook's first voyage turned out to be one of the greatest voyages of exploration, but it began as a scientific voyage – observing the 1769 transit of Venus from the recently discovered island of Tahiti
